ASBO International Past Presidents Scholarship
The ASBO International Past Presidents Scholarship reflects the shared commitment of former ASBO International Presidents to supporting the next generation of school business leaders. Funded by Past Presidents, the scholarship provides financial assistance to early-career professionals seeking to attend the ASBO International Annual Conference & Expo. By reducing barriers to participation, the scholarship helps emerging leaders grow their skills, expand their networks, and strengthen their impact within the profession.
Recipients of the Past Presidents Scholarship represent the future of school business leadership and carry forward the values of service, learning, and stewardship championed by ASBO International’s Past Presidents.
Awards
- One or more scholarships of $2,000.
- Supports attendance at the ASBO International Annual Conference & Expo.
- Scholarship funds are reimbursed to the recipient’s school district following conference attendance.
Eligibility
- Must be a school business professional with five years or fewer experience as of June 1 of the current year.
- Must be currently employed full-time by a school district through December 31 of the current year.
- Open to professionals in finance, accounting, purchasing, food service/nutrition, transportation, facilities, risk management, and related school business roles.
- ASBO membership is not required.
- Individuals may receive this scholarship only once.
- Candidates maybe nominated by individuals, superintendents, associations, or ASBO partners.
- Nominees must complete an online application, including:
- Short responses (four questions, 50 words each)
- A current resume
- A letter of interest demonstrating leadership aspirations and financial need
- One or more letters of recommendation from an employer attesting to leadership capability
Deadline
- Nominations were due June 1 for consideration for the 2026 scholarship.
Review
- Applications are reviewed and recipients are selected by ASBO International Past Presidents.
The deadline to apply for the 2026 cycle was June 1, 2026.
