ASBO Conducts Job Task Analysis to Create Content Outline for Certification Program
The first step in creating the certification program
for school business officials is to identify the tasks performed by
school business officials and the knowledge and skills needed to perform
those tasks. ASBO is conducting a job task analysis to identify these
areas of competency.
Job Task Analysis Process
The job task analysis began with a three-day face-to-face
meeting of 12 practicing school business officials, October
2–4, 2009, in Orlando, Florida. They created an outline
of the duty areas, tasks, and skills and knowledge required to perform
those tasks. In November 2009, ASBO emailed the outline to ASBO
members and others in the profession for validation. The final content
outline will be posted on ASBO’s public Website in January
2010.
Job Task Analysis Panel Representation
The panel consists of 12 practicing school business officials
who represent the breadth and scope of the profession from across the
United States and Canada. Meet the panelists.
