Credentialing for School Business Officials

Examining the need for global credentialing programs and more uniformity across school business management profession requirements is one of ASBO International's key Strategic Goals. To meet this goal, ASBO created a certification program. The information provided here outlines the work of ASBO’s Credentialing Task Force and gives an overview of the current status of credentialing in school business management.

 
Credentialing Task Force Recommendations:
The ASBO Board of Directors accepted the task force’s report, which included beginning the credentialing initiative with a common understanding of the school business official role and competencies across geographical borders.

Sixty percent of states and provinces have either a required credentialing program or a voluntary program for school business officials.
