HSC Offers Free Quick and Easy Guide to Green Cleaning in Schools
ASBO International's role in the Green Clean
Schools national partnership was recognized December 7, 2006,
when Dan Moberly, ASBO's Resident Practitioner for Indoor Air Quality,
accepted an award from the Healthy Schools Campaign.
ASBO is one of six founding participation organizations working with the Healthy Schools Campaign (HSC) to educate their members about green cleaning in schools and to promote The Quick & Easy Guide to Green Cleaning in Schools, a free resource available through HSC. See below for more on the Guide.
Rochelle Davis, Founding Executive Director of the Healthy Schools Campaign, presented the award at a Green Team Leadership Luncheon hosted by HSC in conjunction with the EPA's Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools National Symposium.
At the luncheon, participants heard from Steve Ashkin, author of the Guide, and from other national leaders.
The annual conference, a gathering of 600 school administrators, principals, teachers and parents who are working to improve the school environment, was held in Washington, DC.
Free Quick and Easy Guide Simplifies Green Cleaning in Schools
Providing a safe and healthy school environment
is of primary concern to school administrators, staff and parents, and
starting a green cleaning program can be an important ingredient in
school health.
"Starting a Green Cleaning program can feel overwhelming, but schools can get the process started with a few simple steps," says Rochelle Davis, founding executive director of the Healthy Schools Campaign (HSC). HSC collaborated with Stephen P. Ashkin, president of the Ashkin Groups LLC and a green cleaning leader, to publish The Quick and Easy Guide to Green Cleaning in Schools.
The Guide is the first-ever multimedia how-to guide to help schools adopt cleaning programs that encourage the use of green products, equipment and practices in schools. The six-page, full-color handbook simplifies the green cleaning process, while the enclosed CD-ROM contains comprehensive information, practical advice, tools and resources to help schools take action. It also includes a purchasing guide that lists sponsors' products consistent with HSC Green Clean recommendations.
Easy-to-use information and resources for setting up a green cleaning program in schools are included in The Quick & Easy Guide to Green Cleaning in Schools, available from the Healthy Schools Campaign free of charge.
Order your free copy of The Quick & Easy Guide
to Green Cleaning in Schools online, or call 888/ HSC-1810 to

ASBO International, along with ten other organizations representing the nation's school administrators, school boards, teachers, and parents, is participating in the effort to educate schools about green cleaning by making The Guide available at conferences and trainings, and getting involved in other educational activities.
