ASBO Offers Free EPA Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools Action Kit to Members
ASBO International is proud to co-sponsor the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) in its efforts to promote higher standards of
indoor air quality in the nation’s schools. The EPA has had great
success with their Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools (IAQ
TfS) program.

Program
The EPA's Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools (IAQ
TfS) program is a voluntary initiative to help school
officials nationwide address indoor air quality problems and reduce
exposure to asthma triggers in the classroom. The guidance in IAQ TfS
can save schools time and money so that attention can be directed to
educating children.
Implementing Your IAQ Program with the TfS Action
Kit
The Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools program is a flexible,
comprehensive resource for school building health. Successful programs
rely on Indoor Air Quality Teams armed with the latest knowledge of air
quality issues and common-sense preventative measures.
After securing endorsement from the superintendent or school board, your IAQ Team can use resources from the IAQ TfS Action Kit to launch an air quality management plan, and to follow through on the steps needed to implement the program district-wide.
The Tools for Schools Action Kit helps schools carry out a practical plan of action to improve indoor air quality at low cost by using straightforward activities and in-house staff. The Action Kit is a one-stop resource to help staff identify indoor air quality problems, organize an IAQ Team, plan improvements, and communicate the issues to local media and the community.
The Action Kit includes easy-to-follow checklists,
videos, sample memos and policies, a recommended management plan, and a
unique indoor air quality problem-solving wheel. You can view the
