School Districts Recognized For Excellence in Budget Presentation

Reston, VA—

August 15, 2011—

The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) is proud to honor 123 school districts with the prestigious Meritorious Budget Award for their 2010–2011 budget.

The Meritorious Budget Awards (MBA) program, sponsored by ING, promotes and recognizes excellence in school budget presentation and enhances school business officials' skills in developing, analyzing, and presenting a school system budget.

As recipients of the MBA, these school districts have demonstrated excellence in budget presentation through understandable and clear budget guidelines; state of the art budget practices; short- and long-term goals; sound fiscal management practices; and professional growth for the school system’s budget staff.

The districts receive an award plaque and certificate as well as recognition in national and local media. They also benefit from enhanced credibility with their school board and community.
