October 12, 2009--

The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) embarked on a milestone in launching a certification program for school business officials. A newly created Job Task Analysis Panel held its first meeting, October 2-4, 2009 in Orlando, Florida.

These 12 practicing school business officials who represent the breadth and scope of the profession from across the United States and Canada will identify the different areas of testing for certification. At their first meeting, they created an outline of the duty areas, tasks, and skills and knowledge required to perform those tasks.

"This Job Task Analysis Panel meeting signifies visible progress for certification for school business officials," said John Musso, CAE, RSBA, executive director of ASBO International. "We are on the path for an exciting future for the school business management profession."
