DISTINGUISHED PROFESSIONAL AWARD RECIPIENT
Kathy Huffman Isenhour
Associate Superintendent of Business & Finance Hickory Public Schools Hickory, North Carolina Kathy has been described as the glue that holds together a
dedicated school finance team. Early in her career, she computerized the
district's manual accounting system. This not only saved time and money,
but created up-to-date financial reporting and controls. During the
worst of economic downturns and cuts in state and local governments, her
strong fiscal and internal controls increased school system fund
balances from less than $150,000 to more than $1 million today. All this
was accomplished without sacrificing quality.
