Who should apply?

ImageYou! You have an impressive career; during your years as a school business official you've dealt with just about every facet of school business, from accounting to risk management, through stable economic times as well as financial crises. You are a leader in the district and the community. You enjoy mentoring others and have contributed to ASBO International and your ASBO state affiliate to make sure others in the field are ready to face today's challenges as you contribute to the well-being of your own school district.

Selection Process and Finalists' Interviews

An independent panel of judges evaluates the application and chooses the four most qualified candidates as finalists. Neither ASBO staff nor ASBO members are on the selection panel.

The finalists are notified and are required to travel to ASBO headquarters in Reston, VA, for indivdual interviews conducted by the selection panel. The travel to Reston is reimbursed by ASBO and requires one overnight stay in the Reston area.

Approximately one week after the interviews, the judges complete the selection and name the International Eagle Award and the three Distinguished Eagle Award recipients.
