Vision Statement
Our role in school administration continues to become more complex as we move further into the 21st Century. As a result, we need our organization to move into a leadership position in the governmental affairs arena. We should develop a proactive strategy and we should strive to become the “go to” organization for legislators and staffers on issues impacting school finance and operations in areas such as the mandates of No Child Left Behind, decreasing federal funding, and growing concerns about our preparation for emergency disasters.
Enhancing ASBO International’s status as a partner with other educational organizations is a key to our long-term success. We also need to increase our support of the state and provincial affiliates, especially those who lack the resources or size to enjoy a full-time staff. We need to continue to increase our professional development opportunities to the membership and develop programs and resources to meet the needs of the average member. We also must reach out and appeal to those school business professionals who for whatever reason are not members of ASBO International. Increasing our membership will help make ASBO International a stronger association on the national level.
