John D. Musso is Named Executive Director of ASBO International (June 30, 2006)

John D. Musso, RSBA, Chief Financial Officer for the District of Columbia Public Schools, has been named Executive Director of the Association of School Business Officials International.

In his current position with D.C. Public Schools, Mr. Musso is responsible for all financial and budgetary functions of the school district, which has an annual budget of $2 billion in operating, grant, and capital funds.

Mr. Musso has more than 30 years of experience in education, having previously served as an elementary school teacher, principal, and deputy superintendent.
He has also held leadership positions with Colorado ASBO, the Colorado Liquid Asset Trust, the Colorado Association of School Executives, and the ASBO International Board of Directors.

Mr. Musso is a two-time recipient of ASBO International's Eagle Award, having been named International School Business Official of the Year in 2001 and an Outstanding School Business Administrator in 1992. He also received ASBO's Pinnacle of Achievement Award in 1994.

Mr. Musso will officially join ASBO International at their headquarters in Reston, Virginia, on July 11, 2006.
