Federal Government Issues New School Guidance on Coping with Swine Flu Outbreaks

The U.S. government has issued new guidelines for school closings when swine flu strikes in hopes of preventing the panic and confusion that prompted hundreds of school closures last spring. Changes to the guidance include a recommendation on when students who have had the flu should return to school.

Visit www.flu.gov for a toolkit for schools. As the situation changes and new recommendations come out, this site will be continually updated.

Schools are asked to report dismissals due to swine flu to the CDC.

ASBO International will provide up to date information on H1N1 swine flu as it becomes available.
